Battery life
In the Garmin Tactix 7, battery life is better than ever before. In the watch, you get up to 37 days in smartwatch mode including solar charging and 122 hours with GPS turned on including solar charging.
Design update
Tactix 7 has received a number of design improvements. The watch maintains its robust style and reliable performance, but certain improvements have been made that make the watch even more rugged, but also more practical, among other things you get sapphire glass so the watch lasts. In addition, the watch is approved based on US military standards.
The screen has also been updated. The Tactix 7 has a touch screen that, for example, makes it easier to use the built-in topographical maps.
On the proud gift, you also get solar panels in the screen, just as there is a nylon strap that is lighter than the silicone strap.
Multi-continent map and direct download option
On the Garmin Tactix 7, you get a preloaded Topographic map with optimized map details of Europe. In addition, as something new, you can also download other maps directly onto the watch via Wi-Fi, if you are going to the USA, for example. The watch’s 32 GB lets you choose which cards you want on the watch and which you want to choose from. You also get Golf and SkiView cards, now also with cross-country trails – both classic and ice skating.
UP-AHEAD
If you load the route you intend to run before a run or competition, Garmin Tactix 7 with the new function Up-Ahead can tell you what will happen on the route. It can show you when to turn next, when the next fluid depot is, how steep the next hill is, etc.
Race Pace Predictor Trend
On the Garmin Tactix 7, you get a trend line that shows you how fast you can expect to run 5k, 10k, half and marathon, but also how the estimates have looked in the past. You can thus see whether your shape curve is on the way up, down or whether it has stagnated. You can subsequently use that information to evaluate your training.
Stamina
Avoid going too hard on your run with the new “Stamina” function. You get an overview of your energy levels and consumption so that you can hopefully avoid burning off all the energy too quickly. You get a clear overview of how much you have used and have left, and Garmin Tactix 7 calculates how long you can keep running at a given speed.
New optical heart rate monitor
The heart rate monitor on the Tactix 7 has been redesigned so that it is now even more accurate than previous versions. There is PulsOx that can measure the oxygen saturation in your blood, and the meter still works underwater.
Tracklog filters
With the new Tracklog filters, you can easily get an overview of the trip when your run is finished. Your Tactix 7 displays your route with different colors symbolizing how you did on that part of the route. You can choose which data you want to read; whether it should be pace, heart rate, altimeter, cadence, etc.
Walk detection
Tactix 7 can read how much you’ve walked when you’ve been out trail running. Therefore, you can see exactly how much of your route you have walked when the hills have become too steep.
Multi-Band GPS
With Multi-Band GPS turned on, you can get much better GPS precision than you’re used to. You can receive more satellite lines than you could before, and therefore your Garmin Tactix 7 can give you more accurate data than you could get before.
New setup via the app
On the Tactix 7, setting up your watch is easier. Everything can now be done over the phone. The very first time you have to use the watch, you will be able to feel a clear difference. In addition, all of your watch’s settings can be changed via the Garmin Connect app. This makes setup easier and gives you a more user-friendly experience.
Jumpmaster app
The Jumpmaster app lets you choose between three different functions: HAHO, HALO and Static Jumps. In addition, you can set the Desired Impact Point (DIP), you can get altitude information and calculate the high altitude release point (HARP).
Dual-position format
Lets you set two different coordinate formats and display them at once.
Flashlight
Tactix 7 has a flashlight that can glow green, so it is compatible with Night Vision Goggles.
